These two Gwinnett County schools in Suwanee, Georgia are located on the same property, but were designed by separate architects. Breedlove Land Planning provided the site design services for the entire site, which involved extensive coordination with multiple architects, consultants, and contractors. The site’s extreme topography and proximity to Lake Louella presented a tremendous challenge in locating the athletics complex while minimizing impact to the environment. The use of Palisades™ engineered baskets to create vegetated, mechanically-stabilized slopes allowed for the athletic fields to be located close to the lake. This approach allowed the demanding program requirements to be met while minimizing disturbance and protecting natural habitat.
