A crystal clear natural spring is one of the primary features of Magnolia Springs State Park in Millen, Georgia. The spring produces seven million gallons of water per day, which makes this area an exceptional habitat for wildlife.
Breedlove Land Planning’s ability to remain sensitive to such an environment was critical to the design success. A key element in the design of the boardwalk along the edges of the spring was the avoidance of negative impacts to this pristine natural feature. The boardwalk features two viewing pavilions allowing for visitors to enjoy different vistas. The boardwalk itself connects the two viewing pavilions along the edge of the spring with informational signage along the way. A walking trail connects the viewing pavilions through the woods. This project successfully celebrates the natural environment without adversely impacting the surrounding valuable natural resources.
