Heritage Park & Village

Posted By on Mar 8, 2016 |

Heritage Park is an active/passive park located on 129.5 acres in Henry County, Georgia.  Breedlove Land Planning provided a comprehensive, phased master plan that has guided subsequent park development. The park’s initial phase included a new library and senior citizens center. Working with two architectural firms, Breedlove Land Planning developed a site design that unified the two buildings while maintaining individual character for each.

The second phase included a softball complex, The Brian Williams Trail, and Heritage Village. The softball complex allows the county the luxury of hosting various major athletic events. The trail system provides access and enjoyment to pedestrians, cyclists, and skaters throughout the park. The Heritage Village incorporates an exhibit barn, an old school, general store, log home, smoke house, and an old locomotive engine arranged to resemble 19th century Henry County.   The pedestrian friendly village provides a peaceful stroll among the various historic buildings.
