Wild Horse Creek Park Aquatic Center

Wild Horse Creek Park was essentially an active ballfield park when Cobb County Parks Department determined it would be a perfect location for a new aquatic facility to serve southwestern portions of Cobb County.  Three ballfields were removed to make room for a new pool house, a large leisure pool and several open pavilions.  The leisure pool was designed by a specialty consultant and features an impressive water slide, a lazy river and several interactive water features.  The pool deck is separated from the pool house via stair and ramp systems and low walls that create distinct spaces for the users.  A new spillway control structure was constructed on an existing pond so that it could be utilized for stormwater management purposes.  This is now one of the most popular facilities in Cobb County.
