Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial is a tribute to all Gwinnett residents who lost their lives in the line of duty, either in military or public safety service.
The memorial is situated along the main axis of the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center. The design solution for the 9,000 square foot pedestrian park provides a cohesive combination of plaza space, monuments, walkways, and plantings.
The memorial also integrates a natural surface trail system that meanders through the adjacent woods providing picnic areas and connectivity to the downtown Lawrenceville area. The preservation of the surrounding mature trees was of utmost importance to the community and became a major driving force that dictated the trail location.
To open the park in time for Memorial Day, the entire construction of the park was completed in four months.
