Breedlove Land Planning teamed with the management of the Atlanta Silverbacks and Taylor Architecture to develop a phased master plan and construction documents for the professional, amateur, and youth soccer complex. The first two phases included three Olympic-sized artificial turf soccer fields, grandstands, and hospitality facilities.
With the majority of the site located within the 100-year floodplain of North Fork Peachtree Creek, a diligent approach was necessary to comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations. Breedlove Land Planning prepared flood studies and developed mitigation plans to demonstrate that the project would not adversely affect the flood elevations or limits. The presence of rock debris stockpiled on-site from the construction of the I-285/I-85 interchange near Chamblee-Tucker Road presented a unique challenge. The innovative design specified that the existing stockpiled rock debris be crushed and recycled on site as sub-grade for the artificial turf fields.
